Today was my youngest son’s 11th birthday. He asked to spend a whole day in, no academic work, Morrisons pizza for tea and not to have to go out for anything. This was achieved and greatly enjoyed. It also, despite birthday celebrating gave me chance to do arty stuff.
I finished the Boramagonafly last night before bed and he also doubled as my mindfulwater colour for the 100 days project. He is awesome and a bit focused (I’ll come back to that).
This morning, I got a page done in my mindful watercolour journal (after face time for present opening with dad)….purple shrooms!
I did try to have a nap BUT the boaramagonafly was having none of that. Apparently nap time could be used to edit videos ready for launching a mini class on shroom painting. He honestly felt like he as flying around my head until I got stuck into moving swiftly towards the attainment of my desires…….he’s magic! I also have a video that is ready for checking and fixing whatever I’ve missed or not got quite how I want it! Now onto the pdf and bonus video!
I even managed an art date with a lovely friend from the USA to help us both get doing at times when we struggle to. It was awesome. Knowing we were doing our mindful water colours at the same time and then chatting and sharing afterwards….it’s soooo much fun (in fact we have another planned tomorrow at 6pm (UK time). I painted rainbow owls….RAINBOW OWLS!
Not just any owls either…these are special. This birthday was the first birthday for ben I haven’t felt a twinge of sadness at how his birth went (undiagnosed breech, diagnosed whilst I was in labour, at home, necessitating ambulance, emergency c section, hospital stay, not being able to care for my other 2 kiddos whilst I healed). I didn’t feel sad, or regretful I was just happy. Happy at his happiness, without an undertow.
So these are very special, very happy, rainbow owls.
Last I’m blogging and creating a slideshow of all the beautiful art created in the mindful watercolours group over on facebook.
